In <a title=\"Sanskrit\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sanskrit\">Sanskrit<\/a>, words Ayus means <strong><em>longevity<\/em><\/strong>, and Veda means <strong><em>science<\/em><\/strong>. The earliest literature on Indian medical practice appeared during the mid-second millennium B.C. The <em><a title=\"Sushruta Samhita\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sushruta_Samhita\">Su\u015bruta Sa\u1e43hit\u0101<\/a><\/em> and the <em><a title=\"Charaka Samhita\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Charaka_Samhita\">Caraka Sa\u1e43hit\u0101<\/a><\/em> are encyclopedias of medicine compiled from various sources from the mid-first millennium B.C. to about 500 A.D. They are among the foundational works of Ayurveda.<\/p>\n<p>Over the following centuries, Ayurvedic practitioners developed a number of medicinal preparations and surgical procedures for the treatment of various ailments. <strong>The overall <strong> theory <\/strong> of Ayurvedic medicine is that health exists when there is a balance between three fundamental bodily Doshas called Vata, Pitta and Kapha which are so closely identical with that of TCM: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth.<\/strong> The development of Ayurvedic medicine generally coincided along the similar path of progress to that of Traditional Chinese Medicine. These two historically and culturally bestowed countries had profound knowledge to well utilize herbal stuff since long time ago.<\/p>\n<p>Ayurvedic medicine is one of the world&#8217;s oldest medical systems. It has evolved India over thousands of years and naturally spreading around the neighboring countries such as Nepal. We respect the heritage of Ayurvedic medicine system just like we do to TCM.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ayurveda holds a simple philosophy that we are part of the universe and the human body is part of the universe too. Ayurvedic medicine is an &#8220;alternative&#8221; medical practice using basically dietary and herbs. Illness and disease are considered to be imbalance of three Doshas.
