The practice can be generally described in the following:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>1.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>To treat drug addicts, work mainly on the following 2 groups of acupoint:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>A.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u5185\u5173<\/strong><strong>Neiguan [PC6] left side; <\/strong><strong>\u795e\u95e8<\/strong><strong>Shenmen [HT7] right side; <\/strong><strong>\u8db3\u4e09\u91ccZusanli [ST36] both side<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>B.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u5185\u5173<\/strong><strong>Neiguan [PC6] right side; <\/strong><strong>\u795e\u95e8<\/strong><strong>Shenmen [HT7] left side, <\/strong><strong>\u4e09\u9634\u4ea4<\/strong><strong>Sanyinjiao [SP6]; both side.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Switch A. and B. every other day. Use electrical pulse charging device if available to enhance the effect by selecting continuous wave pattern at the frequency of 90 per minute, and set the intensity to whatever the patient can tolerate. Treatment time is 1 hour. Add<\/strong><strong>\u81f3\u9633<\/strong><strong>Zhiyang [BL67] for symptom of anxiety and restlessness.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>2.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>To treat alcoholics, stimulate the so-called \u201c12 WELL\u201d acupoints, i.e. <\/strong><strong>\u5c11\u5546<\/strong><strong>Shaoshang [LU11], <\/strong><strong>\u5546\u9633<\/strong><strong>Shangyang [LI1], <\/strong><strong>\u5386\u5151<\/strong><strong>LIdui [ST45], <\/strong><strong>\u9690\u767e<\/strong><strong>Yinbai [SP1], <\/strong><strong>\u5c11\u51b2<\/strong><strong>Shaochong [HT9], <\/strong><strong>\u5c11\u6cfd<\/strong><strong>Shaoze [SI1], <\/strong><strong>\u81f3\u9633<\/strong><strong>Zhiyang [BL67], <\/strong><strong>\u6d8c\u6cc9<\/strong><strong>Yongquan [KI1], <\/strong><strong>\u4e2d\u51b2<\/strong><strong>Zhongchong [PC9], <\/strong><strong>\u5173\u51b2<\/strong><strong>Guanchong [TE1], <\/strong><strong>\u8db3\u7a8d\u9634<\/strong><strong>Zuqiaoyin [GB44], <\/strong><strong>\u5927\u6566<\/strong><strong>Dadun [LR1] interchangeably, plus<\/strong><strong>\u6c34\u6c9f<\/strong><strong>Shuigou [GV26] to tranquilize the patient, then to furtherly add<\/strong><strong>\u767e\u4f1a<\/strong><strong>Baihui [GV20], <\/strong><strong>\u5185\u5173<\/strong><strong>Neiguan [PC6], <\/strong><strong>\u592a\u51b2<\/strong><strong>Taichong [LR3], <\/strong><strong>\u5408\u8c37<\/strong><strong>Hegu [LI4]. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>3.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Needle techniques are of larger scale of push \/ pull movement and vigorous twist intermittently for 20-30 minutes to gain best result. Caution must be exercised to avoid needle bending, needle locking, or needle breaking. In case of dizziness due to needle shock, suspense the treatment and lay the patients flat on bed for fast recovery. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>4.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>For those who are very sensitive to or just scared about the needle penetration, use different size (diameter of from 1 mm to 5 mm at the end) pressing stick made of ox horn to do the stimulation with various pressure at the acupoints as an alternative tool.
