This study is about a herbal regime based on the Traditional Chinese method that can be used in the treatment of heroin addiction. It has been developed in China by Professor Wu Zheng Zhong (retired) of Gansu Provincial Chinese Traditional Medical College. He is a certified Chinese traditional medical doctor and founder of the Chinese Traditional Medical Research Institute (1992). Professor Wu started research into heroin addiction in the late 1980’s and has to date personally treated over 1200 cases in China. His method has been adopted in Warsaw by KARAN which is a Catholic society for drug dependents. Overall the method which still requires formal evaluation seems to be associated with a high success rate both in the short and long term.
